Toddler & Preschool Room

Our toddler and preschool room is designed to support learning and development from 2-5 years.

 

Environment

 

  • The toddler and preschool room features zones which allow children to explore different types of learning and play

  • The space enables both parallel and cooperative play and social interaction with peers

  • Age-appropriate toys and natural resources inspire curiosity, promote social interaction, imagination, problem solving and self discovery

  • The environment promotes physical, emotional, cognitive and social skills

  • The environment and approach focuses on helping children develop their confidence, skills, and independence which they need to thrive as they progress through preschool and in their next learning environment at Primary School

  • Handling books with care an showing interest in stories and rhymes

  • Recognising familiar signs and symbols (e.g. their name)

  • Listening to sounds in words (early phonics awareness)

  • Matching, sorting and comparing objects by size, shape and colour

  • Beginning to understand simple concepts like "more" or "less"

  • Creating imaginative artwork and models using a variety of materials.

  • Acting out real-life and fantasy scenarios.

  • Singing songs from memory and moving rhythmically to music.
