Special Educational Needs Support

Here at Littleleaps we are committed in providing excellent care to all children.

To support children with additional needs and the delivery of the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) code of practice (2015) we have implemented a nursery Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo).

Our SENDCo continually attends ongoing training opportunities to develop her knowledge and keep up to date with current guidance and legislation. The SENDCo support's the key person, child and families to ensure that the child’s individual needs are met.

Our staff regularly liaise with other professionals (with the parents consent) to gain further advise in supporting each individual child.

The SENDCo will provide personal plans for each individual child based around their abilities, needs and interests. Staff will work collaboratively to ensure that these targets and strategies are implemented. These plans will be reviewed by the SENDCo, key person and the child’s parents to update plans and ensure they are supporting the child appropriately.

If you wish to discuss anything further and have any questions our staff are readily available to give further information or advice.
