Temporary Part time/ Bank Staff Member 

Due to increase in demand, Littleleaps Nursery & Pre School are looking to recruit a passionate Part Time Nursery Practitioner/ Bank Staff Member. 

The position available is Term Time Only and is fixed term between 4th January 2022 until 22nd July 2022, with possibility of extending to a permanent position at the end of this term. 

Working hours are flexible depending on demand of the nursery setting however, normal working hours will be between 10-20 hours a week, primarily between the hours of 9am and 3pm. Flexibility in working hours between 7:30am-6pm is preferred but this is open to discussion, paid at an hourly rate (depending on age and experience).

What we are looking for:

We're looking for a person who is self-motivated, passionate and a team player with good communication and interpersonal skills. You must have a genuine desire to care for children in a safe and stimulating environment.

Experience and qualifications:

  • A full and relevant level 3 qualification is desirable, however those with full and relevant Level 2 will be considered. Your ability to care is the most important thing to us.

  • Being passionate about providing stimulating activities and outstanding teaching and learning is essential.

  • Experience in using Tapestry or another form of online learning journal is desirable.

  • Experience in planning, tracking and assessment whilst providing Early intervention for those that require additional support (working alongside our nursery SENDCo) will be ideal but training can be provided.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Supporting children throughout their Early Years stages

  • Providing Early intervention, under the direction of the settings SENDCo for those that require additional support 

  • Supporting to cover staff illness or holiday across the nursery setting

  • Assisting in the implementation and supervision of children’s activities

  • Monitoring and recording children’s progress

  • Key worker responsibilities may be required, building and maintaining relationships with small group of children and their parents / carers

The position is subject to successful interviews, references, an initial review within the first 3 months and a probationary period of 6 months.
