This week we have been celebrating Diwali and will continue these celebrations into next week. We have all made our own diya lamps using salt dough, paint and glitter and have taken these home with a candle. We explored what Diwali is and how it is celebrated by reading books around the celebration and watching videos too. "I like all the colours" one child said and "what is that?" This allowed time for questioning and learning about the world around us too. At snack time we tried new foods in the baby room and pre-school room too. The children in the baby room made their own rangoli patterns in the glitter too; making marks with their fingers. The children in the pre school room made their own marks using a range of colours to create their own designs
