We are excited to announce we are going to be hosting our very own Teddy Bears picnic in support of the Teddy Bear Trust charity.
The Teddy Bear Trust is a charity that send thousands of soft toys to children living in war zones. The next batch of 10,000 teddies will be sent to Syria.
For this reason we have been collecting teddies to send from Little Leaps. If you have any unwanted teddy bears that you could donate this would be greatly appreciated (can be bought to nursery). The charity asks if they can be:
• Small enough for children to carry
• Clean and in good condition
• They do not emit a noise of any type (this could compromise the child’s safety if it made a sound)
• Cuddly, soft and comforting
• Not branded
When a teddy is sent with love and compassion by a child in the UK it can have a profoundly comforting effect on a suffering child elsewhere in the world. Sometimes a teddy is the only gift that child has ever received. It means so much more than a toy; it is a friend to talk to and cuddle in the darkest moments.
