Sink or float ???
Today we participated in a sink or float activity using fruit and vegetables (to support our healthy eating week). The pre school children had a discussion about their opinions and thoughts as to whether the items will sink or float.
We heard lots of describing words throughout such as “heavy” “hard” “soft” and “light”. One child said “it’s sinking...look....I knew it was heavy” as they proudly smiled to themselves. The children also discussed the types of fruit and vegetables and learnt new words if they were unfamiliar with some of these items. The experiment was a fantastic opportunity for children to predict the outcome and we were surprised at some of the results.
