This week in the pre-school room we have been busy practicing our scissor skills. We have practised with different scissor equipment initially starting by cutting ribbons, string and playdough spaghetti. Once we began to see progress some children cut paper and made straight lines with their scissors; then wiggly lines too.
Here at Little Leaps we recognise that scissor grip strengthens the same muscles that children need for drawing and writing (the open and close motion). Also that cutting out in all forms helps young children to develop their fine motor skills. We are so proud of all the children throughout these scissor work activities.
