Following the childrens interests in the pre-school room we extended their curiosity and went on a nature walk. This stemmed from an interest in birds. This week when it began raining we observed the birds from the window and watched what they did in the rain. We explored and searched on the internet if they liked the rain or not. Some children were keen to ask questions and remembered they “hid in the chimney” when discussing it at welcome time. We then watched a video all about birds at group time. To explore a variety of birds we went for a group walk to find/ listen to the birds. The children shared binoculars to see the birds closer up too.
Also, during this time we collected natural resources to use in activities throughout the week. This included leaves and sticks too
