National World Turtle Day

This is a day created to celebrate turtles and tortoises. Its main purpose is to make more people aware of the issues facing these beautiful creatures, with hopes to inspire more human action to protect turtles and tortoises and increase their rates of survival in the wild.

We celebrate National Tortoise Day to draw more attention and increase knowledge about turtles and tortoises. Therefore, at nursery we have been learning all about the creatures and fascinating facts about them. We have been busy participating in a variety of activities regarding this area. For instance, designing our turtles by using paper plates, green card, and tissue paper. We have also been painting our own turtles and playing in the sand tuff tray with a turtle purpose focus.

The children have asked questions and sparked lots of new learning opportunities throughout.
