National tree week 27th November to 5th December: National tree week is the UKs largest annual tree celebration. Therefore we have participated in a range of activities throughout the week around this topic. The children showed a particular interest in decorating their very our tree; now displayed at nursery. The children used their fine motor skills to attach the string onto the tree and were creative with their own designs.
We painted our very own trees on our outdoor Perspex board, using our imagination throughout. Some children recognised the colours of a tree and used these colours for a purpose for their designs.
In both the baby room and pre school room we explored planting tuff spots; using seeds to plant. Some pre school children recognised the numbers on the plant pots and were able to count the natural resources as well. we also read books around this topic, following the children’s interests throughout.
